Common questions
When should I involve an advocate in a legal matter?
You do not have to wait until a dispute reaches court. An advocate can help you understand your legal position, review documents, negotiate on your behalf, prepare agreements, or advise you on the best course of action before a dispute escalates.
Can I resolve my dispute without going to court?
Yes. Many disputes in Kenya can be resolved through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Where appropriate, we help clients pursue a practical settlement while protecting their legal interests. Court proceedings may be considered when an amicable resolution is not suitable or successful.
How much does it cost to hire an advocate in Kenya?
Legal fees depend on the nature, complexity, and value of the matter, as well as the work required. Advocates' fees may be guided by the applicable Advocates Remuneration Order. We discuss the expected costs with clients at the beginning of an engagement so that they can make informed decisions.
